Annual Meeting 1998
Article III (d) of the Midwest
Compact requires that the
Commission hold an annual
meeting, and the Commission’s
By-laws specify that the
annual meeting shall include,
but not be limited to, election of
officers and adoption of a budget
for the following fiscal year.
The Commission held its annual
meeting in Madison, Wisconsin
on June 27, 1998. At the meeting,
the Commission amended
the By-laws to provide that officers
should be elected for two
terms without limitation on
reelection.
The Commission decided to
close its St. Paul, MN office.
Both staff had already left the
employ of the Commission. The
Commission agreed to an
arrangement with the Chair to
be the administrative officer for
the Commission and with the
State of Wisconsin to provide
administrative support. The
Commission will reimburse the
State for its expenditures. The
Commission entered into agreements
with others to provide
specified services.
The Commission office is at the
office of the Wisconsin Division
of Public Health in Madison,
Wisconsin.
Stanley York of Wisconsin was
reelected Chair, and Joe Esker
of Minnesota was reelected Vice
Chair.
The Commission adopted a budget
of $92,400.00 for FY 99 and
agreed to meet in January and
June of each year.
Annual Meeting 1999
The Commission held its 1999
Annual Meeting in Bloomington,
Minnesota on June 16, 1999.
The commission reviewed its
staff arrangement with the State
of Wisconsin and received the
1988 audit from its accountant
and auditor. It also received a
report from its attorneys on the
status of the Toledo case. The
Commission adopted a budget of
$56,600.00 for FY 00.
